Sto actively pursues these targets and plays its part in efforts to achieve them, always acting in accordance with the Sto mission statement and our guiding principle, "Building with conscience." This entails preserving buildings and respecting the interests of people and nature at all times.

In order to define and implement its ecological targets, Sto has developed a system of environmental management conforming to international standards. This relates to the entire process chain - from the procurement of the raw materials, to production, packaging and logistics.

Active environmental protection outside...

Sto products make a clear contribution towards improving the quality of the environment.

StoTherm external wall insulation systems and the StoVentec rainscreen cladding systems are extremely energy efficient, cutting heating requirements and thus cutting down the amount of CO₂ emissions.

Thanks to façade insulation systems from Sto, 35 billion litres of heating oil have been saved in just 4 decades. That equates to around one and a quarter million fuel tanker lorries. Placed end to end, they would reach halfway round the world.

These insulation systems represent the contribution Sto is making towards active environmental protection through reducing air pollution – over these same 40 years, Sto products have cut emissions of carbon dioxide by more than 110 million tonnes - and improving the global climate.
